Franchising Opportunities
Maid for business
Cleaning, Business & Professional Services, Homecare & Property Maintenance
Graeme Pirie, Operations Director at Maid2Clean, has a unique insight into the people who are Maid2Clean franchisees, having started with the company as a franchisee himself.
He states: “Our franchisees get out of bed in the morning and live with a sense of self worth because their Maid2Clean business is creating a secure future for them and their families.”
Minimal risk
Maid2Clean offers you a minimal risk business set up with full launch assistance, provided at your site, giving your business 100 per cent focus, allowing you to run the business from the start. This help is not just for your 90 days nurturing period, it also provides you with comprehensive ongoing help and support daytime, evenings and weekends.
The Maid2Clean franchise can be run from home and the company also has a call centre facility should you need it. Plus there are no cash flow problems - your clients pay in advance, so there is no invoicing or cash collections for you to be concerned with.
Franchisees are given the freedom to choose to run the business full time or part time, and unlike other franchisors in the sector Maid2Clean offers franchisees a choice of using a central message taking service, administration function or doing it themselves. Franchisees are also given their own six page micro-site within the main Maid2Clean website.
Maid2Clean franchisees work smarter not harder than the competition, getting a ‘management business’ rather than a job or a cleaning business to run. The cleaning service you will provide as a Maid2Clean franchisee will be at a fraction of the normal costs associated with having a cleaner. You simply have to recruit the cleaners for your clients and the cleaners do all the cleaning.
To be considered for a Maid2Clean franchise you need to be ambitious, tenacious, confident, self motivated and capable of planning and executing the daily workloads, as well as hardworking with a positive ‘can do’ mental attitude.
About the franchise
Maid2Clean works in both boom and bust economies because the business model itself is sharper, more cost effective and appeals to a wider variety of clientele than the traditional cleaning business. Arguably 10 times more people can afford, and will pay for, a Maid2Clean service, rather than a traditional cleaning business model, which can be twice the cost.
Maid2Clean works on the simple premise that ‘the lower the cost of the service, the more people can afford it.’ In hard financial times, people will tighten their belts; that said, wouldn’t you like to be supplying domestic services based on a £10 an hour model rather than £20?
Even during financially better times, people with money are careful with it and the majority of people still prefer to deal with a cleaning agency service, rather than having to deal direct with an individual cleaner.
Many factors come into play when comparing Maid2Clean to the rest of the franchise market. Here are just a few of them:
- No cold calling or sales involved.
- Customers pay in advance.
- You get a management business (not a job or a cleaning business to run).
- It’s a franchise that is also operated by the franchisor himself.
- Small initial investment under £10,000 buys you the complete package.
- Rapid return on investment.
- Growth market sector.
- Minimal risk, high margin business.
- Lower overheads than the competition.
- It’s a home based business.
- A call centre facility is available if you wish to run the business part time.
- Low royalty fees.
- 90 per cent repeat business.
- Strong cash flow.
- Trusted proven business system since 1993.
- Maid2Clean offers an automated residual income.
- Maid2Clean is the only British Franchise Association and BICS franchise of its type.
- You will be joining a national and international franchise team.
In this world there are people who work for others, people who are self employed (similar to having a job) and people that run real businesses, creating real wealth
by generating residual income. Maid2Clean only offers the last route to selected people in exclusive UK territories with 100,000 households. Managing director Mike Hanrahan says: “An old school friend of mine once said that if you’ve managed to increase your net worth by £20,000 every year since you’ve left school, by the time you come to retire you will be a millionaire on paper. ”Maid2Clean makes no promises about anyone becoming a millionaire. What it does promise is that with the Maid2Clean franchise system you can use this business as a vehicle that will take you to your chosen destination in life.”
Maid2Clean is not going to be suitable for everyone. The company is looking for that ‘needle in a haystack’ person who probably occurs once in every 100,000 or so to join it on the road to wealth creation.
Investing in a Maid2Clean franchise is without doubt the best decision I have ever made, says Linda Kenyon
Maid2Clean is a cleaning franchise where the franchisee never actually cleans. It is operated as a management franchise where the franchisee manages the cleaners - and with a low start-up cost of under £10,000 it is a very attractive proposition.
Linda Kenyon was attracted to Maid2Clean for precisely these reasons, but didn’t jump in with both feet immediately. Having searched long and hard for a business opportunity that would give her the freedom from bosses and the independence to set her own income, Linda never dreamed that she would find what she was looking for in a cleaning franchise of all things.
Promise
Everything she looked into promised great riches and financial freedom, but it was never forthcoming and she became so sceptical about franchising that she thought she was going to be stuck as a nurse forever in a job that she loved, but which had changed so much it was no longer what she wanted to do.
While browsing through a franchise search engine, Linda stumbled upon Maid2Clean. She visited the website and made the usual enquiries of the franchisor but knew, instinctively, that it wouldn’t be for her; nothing would work anyway, so why should she bother?
Elaine Hanrahan from Maid2Clean called Linda, as the company does with all enquiries, and invited Linda down to see her and take a look at what Maid2Clean had to offer. Linda was not sure whether she wanted to accept the invitation, because she was sure Maid2Clean would take her money and leave her in the same situation she had been in before.
Linda put Elaine off and decided not to go, saying that she would speak to Maid2Clean again at a later date. Some time later Maid2Clean rang Linda back. Linda remembers: “We got chatting and I thought: ‘Let’s go and see the company to put this lady out of her misery, because I know for a fact I won’t be doing this business.”
Linda persuaded her close friend, Pete, to go with her for moral support and because, like her, he was looking for a business opportunity and had been let down in the past. Pete was also wary of the invitation, and travelling to the meeting kept telling Linda he was only going to give his opinion - he wasn’t going to buy a franchise.
Comfortable
Linda says: “Pete and I met Elaine Hanrahan and felt immediately at ease with her. She was very warm and we both felt very comfortable. We listened intently to what she had to say and by the time we left we were so excited and impressed by what we had seen that I bought my franchise and Pete bought one a couple of months later.
“I have been trading since September 2005 and have steadily grown my business in that time. I work with my husband, who delivers the leaflets, and I work in the office. In the time we have been in business we have managed to get 72 clients and 40 cleaners.
We also have 15 clients that we are outstanding, so in total that gives us 87.” And these figures relate to Linda’s first 12 months in business.
Many of Linda’s friends, including her father, have ridiculed her for spending money on a franchise in an area where she could quite easily have set up on her own. Says Linda:“Little do they know that without the support and advice that Elaine has given me over the past 12 months I know I would have failed at the first hurdle. As it is, I have no doubt that this business will give me everything I have longed for all these years, and I am now building a great future for myself and my family.
“Maid2Clean is without doubt the best decision I have ever made in my life and I would like to thank Elaine and Mike Hanrahan and their team for giving me this fantastic opportunity and helping me along every step of the way.”
