Great concept
SUBWAY IS ON TARGET TO OPEN ITS 1,000TH STORE IN THE UK AND IRELAND SOON
The SUBWAY chain, famous for its wide
variety of Subs made fresh in front of
the customer, is continuing its rapid
expansion and expects to open the 1,000th
store in the UK and Ireland in the next few
months. The chain plans to open a further
1,000 stores in the region by 2010.
The success experienced by the SUBWAY chain
is down to the great concept, which is to keep
franchisee investment low, the operation simple
and to offer customers food that is fresh, great
tasting and made the way they want it.
PRIDE
The chain takes great pride in its food and its
exceptional franchise opportunities. Franchisees
receive all the necessary support, tools and
knowledge to run a successful business.
The fact that over 70 per cent of all new SUBWAY
franchises sold worldwide are sold to existing
owners speaks volumes about how they must be
getting it right. The chain has also been named the
number one franchise opportunity by Entrepreneur
magazine 15 times in the past 20 years.
The ‘Franchise 500’ rankings are the most
comprehensive franchise rankings in the world and
consider many factors, including financial strength
and stability, growth rate, the size of the system and
start-up costs. When the chain was first named the
number one franchise by Entrepreneur in 1988, it
had about 4,000 locations – now the chain operates
almost 28,000 stores in 85 countries.
Start-up costs are exceptionally low for a
franchise of the SUBWAY chain's size and stature
and franchisees can benefit from the purchasing
power of a large chain. In fact, in some cases,
traditional SUBWAY outlets can be opened for as
little as approximately £100,000
