ANYTIME FITNESS OPENS 100TH UK FRANCHISE

Founded in the USA in 2002 and with 2,500 gyms in 16 countries, the fitness club chain is planning on having 200 outlets open in the UK within the next two years.

DEMAND
“The fitness industry is expanding rapidly in the UK and we have found there is a demand here for the Anytime Fitness offering,” Chuck Runyon, CEO of Anytime Fitness, says.

“In fact, the average membership for an Anytime Fitness club in the UK one year after opening is already more than 30 per cent higher than for those in the USA or Australia.
“With over 600 clubs now open outside of the US, our UK growth is further proof that our business model is attractive to potential franchisees and consumers worldwide.

“2014 is likely to mark a tipping point for our business.

“It will be the first year we open more gyms internationally than in the US, a trend we expect will continue year on year as we invest in new markets across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.”
Anytime Fitness uses technology that allows gyms to be open 24/7 without the need for round the clock staffing.

As a result, franchisees’ personnel costs comprise just 10 per cent of operating costs, compared to the industry standard of 45 per cent.

LOCATION
The company also employs a team of franchise consultants to help franchisees identify and secure the best location in their region to ensure clubs are always conveniently located.

Anytime Fitness members can use any of the company’s club anywhere in the world at no extra cost.
